On November 28, the National Conference on the Exchange and Promotion of New Technologies and Methods for Geological Disaster Monitoring was held in Guiyang. More than 700 experts from relevant departments of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Emergency Management, provincial (city and district) departments of natural resources and local (city and county) departments in charge of geological disaster prevention and control work gathered at the International Conference Center of Guizhou Province to exchange ideas around geological disaster prevention and control technology, new technology and equipment for geological disaster monitoring.

At the promotion meeting, Wang Min, president of China Geological Disaster Prevention and Control Engineering Industry Association, said that the main task of this meeting is to closely focus on the work deployment of the Ministry of Natural Resources, give full play to the platform advantages of social organizations, exchange and promote advanced experience in geological disaster prevention and control, accelerate the research and development of geological disaster monitoring and early warning technology and equipment and the promotion and application of new technologies and methods, and provide strong support and services to enhance the monitoring and early warning capability of geological disasters and maximize the safety of people's lives and property.

 Gao Yuping of Geological Exploration Management Office of Natural Resources Department, Xu Liang of Geological Exploration Management Office of Natural Resources Department of Sichuan Province, and Zhou Xinmin of Geological Exploration Management Office of Natural Resources Department of Shaanxi Province made presentations on the experience of key provinces; 15 units exchanged their experience on the effectiveness of new technologies and methods of geological disaster monitoring.

In this meeting, experts from all over the country had a full exchange and effective docking, through the government-led, social participation, funding research and development, market-oriented operation of the new mechanism, aimed at accelerating the promotion and application of new technologies, methods and equipment, and comprehensively improve the capacity and level of geological disaster monitoring and early warning in China.

The conference was guided by the Department of Geological Survey Management of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Department of Natural Resources of Guizhou Province, sponsored by China Institute of Geological Environment Monitoring and China Association of Geological Disaster Prevention and Control Engineering, co-organized by Guizhou Geological and Mineral Exploration and Development Bureau, and jointly organized by Guizhou Geological Environment Monitoring Institute (Guizhou Geological Disaster Emergency Technical Guidance Center), 111 Geological Brigade of Guizhou Geological and Mineral Exploration and Development Bureau and 114 Geological Brigade of Guizhou Geological and Mineral Exploration and Development Bureau.
