From December 19 to 20, the 10th National Academic Conference on Ground Rock Engineering and Southwest Regional Engineering Construction Meteorology and Geological Disaster Prevention Technology Seminar was held in Kunming, with more than 200 representatives from more than 50 research institutes, including the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Tongji University and Wuhan Institute of Geotechnics, attending the conference. Wu Huajin, Chief Engineer of Yunnan Provincial Department of Transportation, attended and delivered a speech.

The conference was sponsored by the Ground Rock Engineering Committee of China Rock Mechanics and Engineering Society and Yunnan Provincial Highway Society, and organized by Yunnan Provincial Transportation Investment and Construction Group Co. With the theme of "meteorological and geological disaster prevention and control technology for engineering construction in southwest region", the conference set up three sessions of meteorological disaster prevention and control technology, geological disaster prevention and control technology and application of BIM technology in engineering construction, and invited 22 famous experts and scholars such as academician Ma Hongqi, Professor Hu Jiangbi, Researcher Sheng Qian and Professor Luo Hanbin to give invited reports and conference reports. The participants exchanged and discussed the research and application of meteorological and geological disaster prevention and control technology and BIM technology in engineering construction.

The conference will provide new ideas and methods for disaster prevention and mitigation in Yunnan in the fields of meteorology and geology, and will also give a strong impetus to a group of science and technology workers to join the construction of infrastructure system interconnection in Yunnan Province, serve and integrate into the national "Belt and Road" strategy, and contribute wisdom and strength to the leapfrog development of Yunnan transportation.

Professor Zhang Bo, a senior engineer of Greenstone Ecology, was invited to attend the conference and gave a presentation on the "green anchor" effect of "loam-like substrate" technology in the ecological restoration of high and steep slopes.
