The 2017 Annual Academic Conference of the Geological Society of China was held at Hangzhou International Expo Center from October 10 to 12, 2017. More than 2,500 experts and scholars from geology-related fields held an in-depth academic exchange around the theme of "Promoting geological science and technology innovation and helping green economic development".

As a bridge and link between the whole industry and the general scientific and technological workers, the Chinese Geological Society is responsible for promoting the development of geological disciplines, promoting academic exchanges and cultivating geological scientific and technological talents.

Meng Xianlai, the executive vice president of the Chinese Geological Society, presided over the conference report. Thirteen academicians and experts were invited to give presentations on "Present-day tectonic deformation and deep dynamics of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau", "Study of the Tarim igneous province", "How to view China's oil and gas resource potential and future development prospect", and "The future development prospect of the Tarim igneous province". New Progress of Geochemical Exploration in Deep and Covered Areas", "Innovation of Uranium Ore Formation Theory and Major Breakthrough in Ore Search in China", etc. were discussed.

Zhu Lixin, Secretary General of the Chinese Geological Society, introduced that the annual academic conference of the Chinese Geological Society is held once every two years, which is an interdepartmental, inter-industry and inter-professional academic exchange conference, aiming to provide a platform for academic exchange for geologists, especially young geologists.

On October 11, Zhang Bo, General Manager of Green Rock Ecology Company, as a representative of the conference, introduced the application of the company's advanced technology - "loam-like soil matrix" technology in mine disaster prevention and environmental restoration in the session 17.

During the conference, all the participants exchanged the fruitful results of geological survey and geological scientific research in recent years, discussed the problems faced by the development of geological science, and planned the future development of geological science together.
