The reporter learned from the Ministry of Natural Resources that, up to now, 88 standards of various types involving China's geological disaster prevention and control engineering industry have been released and approved, which also marks the initial formation of China's geological disaster prevention and control standard system.
 

Geological disasters include landslides, debris flows, ground subsidence and other disasters related to geological action caused by natural factors or human activities that endanger people's lives and property. The 88 standard systems published so far cover geological disaster investigation and evaluation, monitoring and early warning, comprehensive prevention and treatment and emergency response.

Inspector, Ministry of Natural Resources Executive Vice President, China Association of Earthquake Prevention and Control Engineering, Guan Fengjun：There are a total of 280,000 geological disaster sites in our country, and a considerable number of them have been implemented for professional monitoring, but there are still a large number of them mainly rely on group testing and prevention, and gradually we have also worked out the rules and summarized these things into standards and norms, which is the first complete system of geological disaster prevention and control standard system in China.

The Ministry of Natural Resources requires that this year will be organized to carry out multi-type and multi-level training to accelerate the standardization of geological disaster prevention and control work. It is understood that since 2012, the state has been compiling standard specifications for geological disaster prevention and control work in key areas and fields according to the types of geological disasters, and the construction of the standard system will have a positive contribution to the realization of standards, norms, systems and requirements in the field of geological disaster prevention and control in China, and to improve the scientific and precise nature of disaster prevention and control.
